The Real Deal
Renowned novelist and poet Erica Jong’s Manhattan apartment is a book lover’s dream. Recently listed for $4.25 million, the home is located on the 27th floor of the famed Imperial House displaying unbeatable panoramic views of the city skyline. Jong, whose acclaimed novel Fear of Flying celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, resided in the Upper East Side abode with her husband, lawyer Kenneth David Burrows, after purchasing the property back in 1990.
An elongated 30-foot gallery welcomes into the home in the sky, opening to a living room that makes quite the impression. Adorned with a custom bookcase spanning the length of the space, the sitting area is aptly suited to house a vast array of volumes. At nearly 3,000 square feet, the entirety of the apartment boasts dignified comfort. The spacious kitchen, a New York City luxury, includes stainless steel countertops and appliances while storage in the form of an extra pantry and walk-in closet resides beside a cozy office nook.
