Lisa is amazing! We bought and sold apartments in the West Village and the Upper West Side with her, and she was incredible at every step of the way. She is patient – we never felt pressured – and remained calm during the (many!!) stressful moments of each transaction. We had to complete an extensive board package for one of the apartments, and she guided us through the process seamlessly. She is also incredibly knowledgeable about NYC. as she’s a born and bred New Yorker (we used to joke that she’s like the mayor, since she knows practically everyone when she walks down the street!). We could not recommend her more highly!

Lisa is an outstanding broker.  We could not recommend her more highly.  Lisa has a wealth of knowledge on NYC real-estate.  She is a native New Yorker and truly knows the ins-and-outs of every neighborhood and building. She found us an apartment that was precisely what we were looking for and was a joy to work with.  Lisa is the best!

For those unfamiliar with her work, Lisa Chajet has a busy and well regarded real estate practice in Manhattan. Her opinions have been sought out by reporters from the NYtimes and WSJ. Lisa Chajet’s ability to complete complex transactions or take a client through the process of completing a board package is stellar. My comments, however, are not about Lisa Chajet’s technical skills, my comments are about her patience, her kindness, her insightfulness, and her integrity.

Lisa Chajet was tireless in her commitment to helping us find an apartment. There were many ups and downs along the way but Lisa Chajet always stood behind us and offered encouragement. She was ceaseless in suggesting new listings and commenting on how each met or fell short of our expectations which she understood and respected. We closed on our apartment with the confidence that comes from making a sound decision.

I wanted to provide this recommendation for Lisa Chajet because her work is outstanding, her enthusiasm is sincere and with years of experience in this industry, you can trust and value her opinions.

Lisa Chajet is a gem!

I wanted to take this opportunity to provide my most heartfelt recommendation for Lisa Chajet.  Lisa handled the estate sale of an Upper East Side apartment on our behalf, and did so with the utmost skill and professionalism.

Lisa’s credentials speak for themselves. We expected her to deliver intimate knowledge of the market, first-rate advice on pricing, an impeccable marketing plan, and an excellent networking of professional contacts.  And she absolutely did.

Lisa was also invaluable in helping us navigate the sometimes-byzantine aspects of an estate sale, providing insight on how the process would proceed and referring us to other providers – personal property liquidators, contractors, etc. – who were available to help facilitate a timely sale.  She was also always willing to talk directly to our estate attorneys if it was more expedient.  In short, her experience and savvy mattered when it came to working on behalf an estate.

More broadly, I cannot say enough about Lisa’s willingness to go the extra mile on her client’s behalf.  We live several hours away and have young children, so our ability to oversee sale prep and staging was limited.  Further, the apartment we were selling was not in excellent condition.  Prior to its going on the market, Lisa made countless trips to the apartment to let vendors in and quality control their work.  She was our eyes and ears throughout the process, developing the requisite excellent relationship with the superintendent, building staff, and management company necessary to make things go smoothly.  She also reported back to us on a very regular basis.  On top of everything else, I will always be in Lisa’s debt for the sheer number of person-hours she put in to facilitate our sale.

In summary, if you are selling a property on have an estate, or if live elsewhere and need an agent to assist you with a sale, I recommend Lisa without reservation.

I’ll try to be brief, as I could go on at length about our wonderful experience with Lisa Chajet as our broker.

She represented me and my husband, S. Eckler, in both the sale of our previous co-op apartment and the purchase of our current one, both on West 12th Street in Greenwich Village. We always knew we wanted to work with Lisa, not just because she was our friend, but because she loves what she does, and we knew she was good. She has a hugely fun, warm personality and we had a blast working with her. But here are some more business-specific reasons we loved her on both sides of the deal.

Selling:

Lisa saved us from wasting time and money. We’d heard that it would be smart to update our kitchen and bathroom before listing, but she strongly advised us not to. She assured us a fresh coat of paint would do the trick, and we’re so glad we listened.

Lisa knew just where to price our apartment based on comps experience and smart instincts. Sure enough, we attracted quick, strong offers during what was still a shaky market. Lisa was a champion when it came to helping us pick the right offer and choose a buyer who would pass the board. As his broker kept dropping the ball with the board package, Lisa competently took over and got it done, even though it was the buyer’s responsibility.

The board review, and sale, went off without a hitch. We used Lisa’s go-to real estate attorney, and she was terrific too.

Buying:

Lisa saved us from making some vastly regrettable mistakes. When we started looking, we saw apartments that, with our novice eyes, seemed just fabulous. Lisa pointed out the shoddy construction, the overly high prices, and more flaws we would have overlooked. Other brokers might have been less forthright, just hoping to get a deal done. Lisa’s honesty and strong convictions were a gift during this process.

Lisa was spot-on when it came to recognizing a smart value and an apartment that would suit us for a long haul, and once the price was right, she confirmed that this one was a winner. Other offers came in at the same time, as the listing was in a sought-after, landmark building. But because Lisa had formed a relationship with the listing broker, ours was the only one considered. In short, her sociable nature spared us from a bidding war.

She then helped us put together an impressive package, which got us handily past a co-op notorious for turn-downs. We’re thrilled with our new apartment, so no plans to buy or sell in the near future. But if we were to jump back into real estate, no way about it: the only person we’d call is Lisa Chajet.

Testimonial from The Famenbaums

I am writing this recommendation on behalf of Lisa Chajet who has been my real estate broker for several transactions.  Lisa sold our first apartment for us back in 2005, helped us purchase our second apartment and then 8 years later sold that for us also.

For our first transaction, she brilliantly managed the logistics and challenges of simultaneously selling and buying at the same time.  She helps us navigate a competitive difficult market and was able to obtain the new apartment for us, despite the many bids.  She made a challenging process much easier and handled all of the parties involved with professionalism and poise.

When we decided to move again eight years later, Lisa once again helped us make this process smooth and easy.  She was able to get us the highest sales price for an apartment this size in our building.  It is rare a broker can possess the ability to form such a positive personal connection with their clients.  Lisa is smart, candid, works unbelievably hard and always puts the needs of her clients first.

WE recommend her without reservation.
