The city is buzzing again. Q3 market data suggests that people’s interest in living in New York City has returned. So far on the Upper East Side in 2021, there have been 2,785 closed sales, with 45% priced under $1M, 39% priced between $1-3M, 12% priced between $3-8M, and the remaining 4% priced over $8M.
The RLS reports 1,785 currently active listings on the market, of which 33% are listed below $1 million, 34% are listed between $1 – $3 million, 19% are listed between $3 – $8 million, 5% are listed between $8-$12 million, and 8% listed above $12 million. The median asking price in the Upper East Side area range from $1.33M for co-ops, $2.6M for condos, to $14M for townhome in the area.
The rental market also remains active, with 643 available listings with a median price of $4,100. The city is back! We are seeing activity on sidewalks, in restaurants, and arts and culture destinations.
