Partnerships are frequent in business because of the success the expanded reach and collective thought process can bring to any scenario. It’s exactly the reason Warburg brokers and husband and wife team Michael and Susan Abrams joined forces, and the results speak for themselves. Together they have sold in many of New York’s most prestigious residential buildings, and combine their expertise in New York real estate to provide clients with an all-around exceptional experience, when selling or purchasing a home.
The dynamic pair have recently sold residences in such renowned buildings as 920 Fifth Avenue, Beacon Court, 190 East 72nd Street, 15 West 81st, 211 Central Park West, 300 Central Park West, 1070 Park Avenue, 1185 Park Avenue, 32 East 64th Street and 291 Seventh Avenue. In addition, they also handled the leasing of rental properties in such popular locations as 350 West 57th Street, 535 West 23rd Street, 640 West End Avenue and 305 East 72nd Street in Manhattan. Their detailed knowledge of city neighborhoods is a huge asset to their customers, enabling them to show buyers the area that fits their personalities and needs.
Susan Abrams, senior managing director, joined Warburg in 2002 focusing on New York city and Hamptons properties. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she has a law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Drawing on her experience as a real estate attorney, she is a tremendous asset to her clients in negotiating the best possible terms for any party she represents.
“Many brokers began their careers in a different industry,” Susan commented. “Fortunately, this is a career where you’re able to utilize your previous professional experience—especially a legal background—to achieve the greatest success for our customers.”
Similarly Michael Abrams, a managing director at Warburg, transitioned to the real estate profession following a career in sales, design and marketing. A graduate of George Washington University, he has a Masters from New York University. Teaming up with Susan, they advise on every facet of the transaction, whether it’s arranging financing, the board approval process, or suggesting local schools, retail and restaurants. Michael’s intimate knowledge of virtually every neighborhood in Manhattan makes him a tremendous resource to his customers. He also managed numerous renovation projects, and can often provide buyers with great insight and a strong team of professionals for homes needing improvements.
Michael added, “We understand the importance of a comfortable home environment, and skills you possess that provide insight to the customer during this often overwhelming process, is beneficial to them in the long run.” It’s this dedication and hard work that led to Michael receiving a Special Recognition Award at the Warburg 2012 Awards dinner.
In addition to their hard work on behalf of clients, Susan and Michael are a very civic minded team, involved with philanthropic organizations throughout the City. Susan is an online expert writer, and mentor for GoGirlFinance.com, a website aimed at encouraging and empowering women graduating from college, deciding career paths and managing finances. Her experience as a woman, mother, and successful real estate lawyer and broker makes her a great resource. Michael is an avid supporter of the Ronald McDonald House, where he sits on various charitable committees. He most recently participated in “Skate with the Greats,” a fundraiser that offers the chance to skate with members of the New York Rangers.
Additionally, Susan and Michael are active in organizations throughout their Upper East Side community. Michael is the Vice President of the 71st Street Block Association, an Upper East Side community beautification and preservation group. Susan served on the cooperative board of Tower East, which provides an insider’s scoop on the review process for cooperative buyers.
The customers and organizations fortunate enough to work with Susan and Michael are recipients of exceptional service and undeniable dedication. The partnership is proud of what they’ve accomplished together and look forward to another outstanding year in 2013, where the prospects are boundless. “The market is experiencing such an exciting surge in activity, and we are working tirelessly to find great opportunities for all of our clients,” concluded Michael.
