At this time two years ago, as many decamped to second homes or the suburbs, some wondered if the coronavirus pandemic meant the end of New York City as a residential destination. These days, though, New York departures aren’t treated nearly so dramatically – it’s generally understood that some are leaving because of professional or personal obligations elsewhere, others are changing their lifestyle in the wake of becoming empty nesters, and still others aren’t leaving at all, but downsizing. That was evident in the New York City listings bought and sold by celebrities in April 2022.
